LEGO was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen. The name ‘LEGO’ comes from the Danish words ‘Leg Godt’, which means ‘Play Well’. Initially, the company made wooden toys before moving to the iconic plastic interlocking bricks we know today in 1949.
